Don't Mess with Israel!

November 10
Each day I continue to pray God will not allow America to join in any negative military or economic campaigns against Israel. Over and again the prophets told Israel God was going to punish them by bringing powerful military forces to destroy their cities and carry away their children into exile for their abominations. Then, he promised Israel he was going to punish those countries because they laughed in derision at Israel and mocked their God whom they concluded couldn’t keep them safe from outside invasion. While it sounds contradictory, one must be aware being victorious in anything does not mean God is on your side. In the end, God always promises Israel He will, in the final days of history as we know it, bring them back to their land, transform their attitude toward Him, set them securely under the guidance of their prince, King David, and never again allow any nation to assault them or their land or their children or their children’s children, ad infinitum.

Egypt, Syria, Assyria, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome have all crumbled under the hand of God for their actions against Israel. Israel is the apple of God’s eye (Zechariah 2:8) which is where I suppose we got that thought. Anyone who touches the apple of His eye is in for some righteous indignation. Many Christians today are trying to figure out why Israel would be the center of attention in the world when the tribulation begins. After all, it is a rather small and insignificant nation politically or economically. The answer is rather simple. It will be the center of international conflict because they are God’s chosen race and the rest of the world lies in the hands of Satan. While I’m relatively certain the Anti-Christ will try to manufacture some reasonable explanation why the world would be a better place without Israel, it all comes down to the fact that he wants to demonstrate He is as powerful as God. And even though he may already realize that isn’t true, his evil nature makes him want to take as many with him into the pit as he can possibly take.

I have written in numerous studies suggesting that everyone will not inhabit the same disgusting part of hell. Ezekiel 32:17-32 the best place to confirm that theological truth. One of the pronouncements on the Pharaoh of Egypt was that he would be in the deepest recesses of the pit; and that he wouldn’t even be given the privilege of being with the other mighty military men who instilled their terror in the land of the living. The perfectly just God will advance perfect justice on all who leave this life without confessing Jesus as Lord. We get only one life to do that (Heb. 9:27). There are no opportunities to repent once we breathe our last breath. At that single instant in time our spirit departs from this physical body that God allowed us to inhabit for the number of seconds, minutes, hours, days, years, or decades He allowed us to live. At that point our eternal destiny is set in stone. It can’t be changed an iota.

In Revelation 22:12, 13 Jesus said, “Behold, I am coming quickly and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.” Whether He comes for you tomorrow or when He returns to establish His kingdom is completely irrelevant as far as determining your eternal standing. Either event will have the same long term consequences. Will you be decked with jewels (figuratively speaking) in the kingdom of God? Or will you be wearing a lead helmet? Or, for that matter, are you even headed for the kingdom of God? Feel free to contact me at the email address on this blog site if you aren’t sure. That’s God’s word for us today.
