God Has Spoken

November 1
God is angry with those who say Jesus is Lord and haven’t bothered to read the 66 pieces collections of His word to us. I speak to people almost daily who spend four or five hours a day watching television and claim they haven’t time to study God’s word. Most who really consider themselves committed to knowing God spend a maximum of 15 minutes daily reading the Bible or a devotional written by someone about the Bible. This devotional is an example. If it is all you read daily that teaches you anything about God and His word, shame on you. Nothing I write will ever make sense to anyone who does not spend significant amounts of time actually reading God’s word. He never intended anyone to understand it who puts His word after television, the local news, or The Life and Times of Laurel Ingals ahead of reading and studying His word. I know for a fact, hundreds, if not thousands of women in America spend hours and hours each week reading wonderful novels about Christian pioneering women who fought the elements to make it in the great America West, who spend less than 15 minutes a day studying the Bible.

I also know for a fact, thousands, if not tens of thousands of men in America who claim to be followers of Jesus spend four or five times as much of their day watching sports or hunting and fishing than they do reading the Bible. God is angry with His church in America because we are complacent, irresponsible, apathetic, greedy, covetous, lying, murdering, lazy, impetuous, ungodly perverts who give Him little more than lip service and a few pennies of our massive fortunes each week to carry on His business of saving the millions upon millions in this country who are going straight to hell when they leave this life.

God has spoken, and He is angry that so few in America have any idea what He has said. God is angry with those standing in pulpits throughout this land who can tell you what dozens of the apostolic fathers have said about the bible, but can’t tell you what God told them He means by what He has said. God is weary with those false shepherds who stand in pulpits across this land declaring things He never said or did. False teachers, evangelists, apostles, and prophets are leading the overwhelming majority of church goers in America to hell faster than one can say Armageddon. God demands our utmost for His highest 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, all the years we claim to be His children. Anything less is idolatry; and it is this incalculable, out of control idolatry in churches across this land that has made it impotent, listless, and a just generally a meaningless micro-dot on the map of eternity.

We’re told to go and make disciples, study to show ourselves approved as workmen who need not be ashamed, to hide God’s word in our hearts, to be ready to make a defense for our faith, to gather together and sing psalms of praise to Him, to encourage one another, not to neglect our assemblies, to be holy, to expose corruption, to expose bad doctrine, to give to the blind, lame, downtrodden, orphans and widows in our communities, and to die daily to our personal needs and seek to be used by God to fulfill His plan for the lost. What truly boggles my mind is that our place in eternity will be a direct and perfectly just reflection (reward) of our faithfulness to be about His work during this life. And literally millions of saints past, present, and future don’t even know that. And, literally millions more, past, present, and future who claim to be saints, don’t appear to care.

This devotional is a call to repentance. It is a plea for any reading it to join me on your knees praying for revival of the saints in America, for God to move in the hearts of our national and local leaders to bring this country back to the biblical precepts and strict obedience to His word, and for Christians to stop thinking incorrectly that He is tolerant of evil. God is angry, and only repentance and humility on bended knee by His saints has any chance of staying His mighty hand from reducing us to an ash heap. And that’s God’s word for us today.
